Sisters of The Rose is a space for women and girls to learn, create, and blossom together. One day I will have offerings for women, The Sisters, but in this season The Daughters are calling me in. Daughters of The Rose (DOTR) is my offering to the girls in my community to understand the inner workings of their bodies, hearts, minds and spirits.

I’ve been on a self-guided educational journey with the aid of many books, courses, workshops, and sessions with wise women. I’ve discovered many aspects of the feminine, and many layers of deeper acceptance of our cyclical nature. I’ve learned the most, however, through my own rites of passage, and personal experience as a woman. My life has brought me the opportunities that lead to the information and transformations of my own divine evolution.

In 2019 I had the opportunity to offer these teachings with a group from the Waldorf School of San Diego. As community we shared a desire for our kids to be raised with a solid understanding and awareness of their bodies. I continued to share casually over the years, then in 2023 and 2024 I was invited by Kidwings Nature School to come teach at their My First Moon Summer Camp. It was so satisfying, and it reinvigorated my zest for connecting with this age group and ignited what I now recognize as a deep soul calling. In 2024, Treehouse Academy asked me host a 6 week after-school series, I love playing around with various models of this offering! I am continuing to follow my personal calling and hoping to expand, as every girl should have the opportunity to learn in a safe, sacred, and playful space. This is where my heart’s path is calling me…

I am dedicated to guiding girls to connect with their inner wisdom and embrace their cyclical nature. I want each girl to love the body she’s in, understand its language, and walk with confidence through her ever changing life. We are shaking off the shackles of shame, confusion, disgust and mistrust. I see the path forward where girls are brought up in love, respect and appreciation for every. single. part of themselves. I’m here humbly, answering my own call to help create the world I want for my own kids and community.

We need to be guardians of the gateways of menarche, birth, menopause
and death to heal the wounded feminine.

Jamie Kohanyi

Jamie is a mother of three, a home tender, land steward and community pillar. At her haven of a home in East County, San Diego, she hosts a myriad of events for kids and adults that focus on building connection with ourselves, each other, and the land.

She received her masters degree from Pacifica Graduate Institute where she trained in mythology, archetypes, and depth psychology. As a therapist she considers herself to be situated at the crossroads of four schools of psychotherapy: depth, transpersonal, feminist and eco-psychological. As a seasoned therapist with years of experience working with girls and women around food, mood, and body image she has become the perfect co-host for Daughters of The Rose.

As foundress of Four Seasons Sisterhood, Jamie gathers women in all seasons of life, from womb to tomb, offering circles, ceremony, counseling and courses. Her sacred work allows for a conscious re-attunement of inner and outer life. The resulting coherence between the psyche (soul) and soma (body) establishes a reverent relationship to oneself, a prerequisite for all respectful relationships. This is a wisdom both profoundly personal yet universal to every woman and girl across space and time.
